Saw was easy to assemble and works like a charm. As far as I am concerned, this is the best value on the market. And free shipping from Amazon is a plus.
the only complaints I have which is kind of a big one is the cheap trunion they should have made a castiron trunion so the table was stiffer and the little table on the side is useless as far as I am concerned the fence is also to heavy if you ask me but this is a great saw and I'm glad to have it in my shop This is a very nice saw for the price the fit and finish is first class it has plenty of power the guides are nice and are easy to adjust This saw is far better then my 14 inch delta grand addition band saw.
In the end, the bandsaw came in two very manageable boxes though. Get this saw. Like I said, this is my first bandsaw so I really can't compare it to others. Fit and finish is excellent. After a lot of cursing, I got it on though. Later I got a Timberwolf 1/4" blade and made 5 bandsawn boxes for Christmas gifts. For shipping, I got the liftgate service added.
Getting the riser block on *alone* is pretty difficult and requires some precarious balancing which in retrospect was pretty stupid on my part. I did it by myself, so I know from experience.
The included fence is SUPER NICE.I was able resaw a 3/16th strip off a pine plank with the stock blade with no problems. Assembly was straight forward, but I HIGHLY recommend getting a strong friend to help.
However, everything everyone else has said is true. One for the base and one for the saw.
You won't regret it. The saw has plenty of power.Dust collection is pretty good.
I have also used it to cut some spalted maple that I found in a firewood pile into boards and veneer.
I do almost all my ripping on a band saw so power and accuracy are very important. One comment: the dust vent must be attached to a vacuum for dust removal. I bought this saw to replace a 30 year old Craftsman 12" that had served me well. This saw has exceeded my expectations. My old saw could exhaust the dust into a box. This saw has reinvigorated my desire to build furniture. The power, fit&finish, make it a pleasure to use.
The light is a good addition. Easy to set up, but heavy. The only issue I have is minor, but the lower set of band adjustments (thumb screws) have a very tight access for my average sized hands. I bought it mainly for resaw purposes. I should have gotten the suggested help of a friend from the instructions, but I just couldn't wait that long. It runs smooth and strong.
